3-sentence stories: Latest challenge over

Hi all,

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has participated in the 3-sentence stories challenge in the last week. The stories that you've all written have been amazing -- I've been reading them, even if I haven't commented yet -- and I love how much enthusiasm there has been for this event.

Seeing all the comments from you supporting each other has been so great. I love this little community. ♥

There's still time to go back over all the posts to write more stories, whether you've already participated or not, and to read and comment on the stories already there.

If you've got any feedback on the event, or would like to see more events like this in the future, please let me know in the comments.

I have more in mind for Worderlands, but I'll leave that for another post. :)

This challenge was quite enjoyable! I'm glad it was advertised on
fandomcalendar, as that's what let me discover it. I don't have any particular criticizms; the low stakes nature made it easy to jump into even a few days late. I wouldn't mind similar "[x] sentence challenges" in the future.

Yess, I saw that post. I hadn't been advertising too much while I'm still figuring out the comm, but it is really cool seeing new peoples joining in. XD (ETA: And so cool that someone likes the comm enough that they made that post too!)

How often would you generally hope for such a challenge to be run? A week-long thing every second or third month is the standard at the moment, but I might change that depending on interest levels.

Once every two months sounds nice, if only because of external life events/other projects an individual might be working on. I could see justification on very low effort things like this being a monthly occurrence though, but that would depend on overall interest ofc

All my feedback is that I had fun and the fact that it was everyday but only for a week was a nice balance between having enough pressure to make it fun, but not so much that it became scary or a chore.

Also your prompts were very fun and creative. I ended up making a lotta fic for fandoms I've been struggling to make works of, so thank you so much for that!! :D

No problem at all. I struggle with some of the more common prompts out there, so try to come up with ones that are a little bit different (but also not too specific).

Thanks for organising! I feel like I was more successful with this than the 700-7k, though I was struggling with that WIP at the time, and I've started getting into flash fiction semi-regularly over the last month, so those are probably both contributing factors! Looking foward to seeing what you come up with next!

I've actually been suggested drabbles today. That might be a potential option. Though I'm also considering ways that I can put a spin on it... If the next challenge is late Aug/early Sept, I still have plenty of time to smooth out details.
