Sometimes Akari is almost able to convince herself that it was all just a bad dream, some sort of terrible nightmare brought upon by a particularly mischievous ghost or Ghost-type.

That would be the easiest answer, wouldn’t it? There’s no way she had the voice of legends ringing in her ears, and she’s certainly not the sort to catch their attention anyhow— it must have all been a temporary bout of madness, never mind the scars, never mind her name and face appearing in the history books.
