Date: 2025-03-21 07:38 am (UTC)I'm writing fanfic at the moment, but when writing original works I usually start with the snowflake method, and the questions around character arcs and character goals are always good to get the rough initial outline of what will make a character -- to fill in more as I write and get to know them better!

Date: 2025-03-22 10:15 am (UTC)Fanfic with characters I haven't written before can still be touch and go until I find a voice and internalised system that seems to fit how I perceive the character. Right now it's easy because I'm writing characters I've written for years (actually the piece I had trouble editing does use a PoV from a character I'm not as comfortable with, so that might be part of the reason for the slower pace!)
