700 to 7k: Wrap up

Thanks to everyone who participated in our first 700 to 7k challenge! I hope you got something great out of it, whether you wrote more words or just enjoyed the posts and questions. :)

♦ How did you go with everything?

♦ Do you have any feedback on the challenge?

♦ What did you think of the daily posts - the questions and tasks? Too much, too little, just right?

I'd love to know what you think. Like with the feedback from the November 2024 challenge, feedback may be incorporated into future challenges.

On that note, I'm already thinking about what might be next for Worderlands...

Don't worry - there's no event to rush to get ready for just yet. But there might be another 700 to 7k (or some similar variation) in a few months. I'm also playing with a few other ideas, but I'll leave that for another post another time.

Happy writing!

The challenge was fun, I liked the reduced timeframe! I got on fine I think, just felt a bit guilty on the couple of days when I was more in an editing mood and didn't have many or any words to add... 😂

I think the prompts can be fun, I thought 3 felt like a lot but I guess I treated them as optional and sometimes just used the post as a check-in. As long as there's no pressure to answer them all, it's good to me! I know many people find them handy discussion starters and it's always interesting to see what other people share.

Short editing challenge sounds good, and like much needed additional motivation, haha :D 🫠

I don't necessarily think 3 prompts were overboard, I just get overwhelmed easily XD

I agree with the above comment, I had fun, even though I fell off a bit at the end! I did also find 3 prompts maybe a little much for each day. A "how's your word count looking?" plus one other prompt would probably be enough for me. But that may also be a me thing because I get intimidated by questions like "Why do you write?" and I take ages to come up with something and then half the time I just never leave an answer.

Looking forward to seeing what's next for the comm!

Hahaha, same, I end up mulling over the prompts so much that I can't hope to respond within a reasonable timeframe, or writing an essay I don't have time for right at that moment 😂 I had to firmly tell myself the prompts were optional otherwise I wouldn't have left any reply at all on the checkins!!

Little breaks in between works better for me honestly! Take as much time as you need, life is obviously the priority!
