3-sentence stories: Day 1

Welcome to Worderlands' latest challenge: 3-sentence stories.

For this month’s challenge, things are going to be a little different. Instead of word count goals and providing you with a question or three each day, I’ll be providing a prompt word.

The challenge: Write a three-sentence story that involves the prompt and share it in the comments! The prompt doesn’t have to be used with the precise wording - just make sure it’s clear the prompt has inspired the piece.

There's no deadline on these stories, though sooner is better if you'd like others involved in the event to read and comment.

Sun and moon in its wake, the serpent’s wings swallowed the sky.

Heavens sweltered with anticipation. Earth shuddered with dread.

Hi again, [community profile] worderlands; my breath’s been bated for this week! (I say, having accidentally slept in this morning/afternoon to start things off…)

Prompt aside, this specific little number also takes a cue from some Pokémon-related plans of mine—I anticipate my backlog to provide further reference throughout the rest of the week, in any case XD
