Wrote some words today! Chronic pain is beating me up so I just managed the 100 but I'm happy I did something.

I think my favorite thing about writing is when the characters take me by surprise. I'm very much a discovery writer and don't plan a whole lot, so I love when something new comes to mind in the moment that I can run with, especially if it takes things in a whole new direction.

Yesss, I love that too. The one except to that being when I feel that the story should be nearing the end, but the characters want to go off in another direction because then their story doesn't have to end just yet... XD

What's something surprising your characters have done recently, if you can think of any specific moments?

Hmm I don't think I have a specific example in mind right now, but it definitely happens a lot in arguments or other heated moments, especially dialogue-heavy ones. Like the dialogue just shows up so clearly in my head like it's writing itself and then it takes a hard left turn and I'm like, oh?? Okay we're doing this now 😌

And yes I feel that with being ready to end the fic and the characters just wanna keep going, like please I've said what I need to say shhhhh 😂
